Kappa!!

Kappa (river-boy). It is a Legendary creatures, a type of water sprite found in Japanese folklore.

Kappa is just like the child size and their bodies are often more like the monkey or frogs than human beings. The pictures usually show Kappa with thick shells and scaly skin that ranges in color from green to yellow or blue. Kappa are inhabit pond or river of Japan. They smell like fish and was the expert of swimming, however they must water-filled depressions atop of their head. Once they decrease seriously of water , they might be seriously weakened or may even die.

Kappa are the troublemakers such as stealing crops and kidnapping children. In fact, small children are one of the Kappa"s favorite meals but they will eat adults as well. Till now, signs warning about Kappa appear by bodies of water in some of the Japanese village. Kappa afraid of fire and some Villages hold fireworks festival each year to scare the Kappa away.

Kappa can understand and speak Japanese. They not only good in swimming but also wrestling. They can actually befriend with human in exchange for gift and offerings, especially cucumber (the most food that Kappa enjoy than human). Once befriended, they can be the helpful Kappa such as helping the farmers irrigate their land. They are also highly knowledgeable of medicine and the art of bone setting.

Today, Kappa is typically depicted as a cute animation character (look at the pictures below). I watch this animation yesterday ~ well it can say as a nice story (but of course the most animations that I like is all from "Studio Ghibli").. At first I thought Kappa(the character) was created by the imagination of the creator.. its makes me feel something mystery, so I go on search about Kappa and what I found is what I mentioned in the earlier... It was the legendary in Japan but yet some news says that people has seen Kappa in some Japanese village.. was it true? I don't know what I know is I enjoy this animation..hehehehe
